Smalto
WaterUncommonwater only
Where to find Smalto
Smalto never sets foot on land. The only water it surfaces in is Primordial Vale, shared with 83 other species, and the only way to bring one up is a rod you forged yourself. Walk the shoreline until the water moves.
How to catch Smalto
Smalto is one of 178 uncommon species, takes a Basic ball or better, and its 30% base leaves 344 of the 608 harder to land than this one. The first ball freezes it, and Primordial Vale is home to 84 species, so the catch is decided on timing far more often than on luck.
Supply
The cap on Smalto is 420, tighter than 274 of the 608 species and looser than 333, and finite either way: the ceilings together come to 407,200 creatures for the whole world, forever.
In a fight
As one of 24 water types sharing Primordial Vale, it hits Fire hard and loses ground to Nature, Thunder, Celestial, which is what will be thrown at it. It leans hard on defence: 88 against 66 for its next best, a gap of 22 that decides how it wants to be played.

Questions
Where do I find Smalto in NOKEMON?
Primordial Vale. It never comes on land, so you need a forged rod rather than a ball. Other players can attack you there, and dying leaves a tombstone anyone can open.
How do I catch Smalto?
Throw a Basic ball or better and win the timing bar. The base rate is 30% and your accuracy moves it, but the ball is spent whether you land the catch or not, so carry more than you think you need.
Is Smalto rare?
Not by the standards of this world: the cap is 420. It is still a ceiling though, and once it fills the species stops spawning for everyone.
What are the shiny odds on Smalto?
About 1 in 76 per capture. Nothing improves it: no ball, no streak, no item and no amount of waiting. The only lever you have is how many you throw at.
